Piper, a cat, spent the first year of his life living rough in a supermarket trolley and subsequently made up for it by finding the most ridiculously animal-loving family in existence (Mutt's) and being spoiled rotten.
Piper quickly adapted to having his every passing whim accurately interpreted and his every desire catered for. Indeed, his doting mummy being an inventor, anything Piper wanted that did not exist now does, to the general benefit of catkind.
Genetic testing and/or guesswork performed by experts identified Piper's grandparents as a sewer rat (Rattus norvegicus), a Friesian cow (i.e. black and white patched), a black rat (Rattus rattus) and a European magpie (Pica pica). This hybrid is commonly referred to as a "magpie cowrat".
