The Terrimoirine Singing Dog is a Shaded dog species found across that continent, particularly the southern half.

It is a wild dog species. They are far less amenable to domestication than were the wolfish ancestors of the Shaded domestic dog.

Appearance

Imagine [African Wild Dogs] with their 'tan' patches much redder.

Behaviour

These wild dogs live in packs.

They have unusually melodious howls, which appear to be the source of folk stories associating them with magical powers or particularly discerning musical knowledge. See [the Timoirine Wild Dog in mythology]
