The word magic is related to the Greek magikos, "of the Magi" (who were wise men or magicians).

Casting-magic is sometimes spelled magick in order to distinguish it from conjuring and stage magic.

Differences between systems

Muttiverse magic works like a catalyst, not directly involved or used up in spells but nevertheless making the entire system possible.

Alternative systems of magic require no universal medium, having spells work entirely out of one caster's will or be fuelled in other ways.
