Robot

Robots are, to give a broad, inclusive definition, intelligent or semi-intelligent machines that are deliberately designed and made.

The presence of robots tends to indicate sophisticated science. Their construction generally involves mechanical engineering as well as a method of creating and programming their 'brains', whether by computer science or magic.

Sufficiently advanced or self-aware robots can be classified as sapient.
