- Cat
- Wild felines as well as the domesticated kind.

- Instar animal, both wild and urban scavengers, a bit like a small dingo with a bushy tail.

- Hiving insects from Instar. Similar to termites. Produce silks in their mounds. One species has been selectively bred to keep for commercial silkmaking; the rest are wild.
- Dog
- Domesticated canid. See also hellhound and himmelhund.
- Dragons
- Reptile, usually large, often flying and/or magical.
- Fairy (Shade)
- Animals rather than a sapient species.
- Moonspinner
- a nightjar-like bird from Eodea.
- Umaa
- Cowlike beast of burden and food animal.
- Wyvern
- Two-legged, winged relative of the dragon, often smaller.
